We have recently talked about photojournalism in class and I want to ask a question to you about photojournalism. It is impossible to ignore the effects of the photographs in visual media; however, I wonder if there should be some ethical limitations or rules before taking pictures of people.
In brief, I want to ask if photojournalists should ask permissions before taking photos of people.
This is such a pertinent question, Burak, and I'm really happy you asked it.
ReplyDeleteI hope others will answer it. I'll leave my observations after they've had a chance...
Sonja should be familiar with my post I believe :) I did cover the same dilemma and many others in photojournalism in my Blog (5th post). The problem is that we just cannot be objective about any subject, so everything gets to the point where some people says it's right and some say it isn't.
ReplyDeletephotojournalists should ask for permission i think.because people can use someother's photographs in a bad way maybe.who knows for what purpose a person would use it.so in my opinion asking for permission is essential.(should be essential)
ReplyDeleteYes you are right but I want to learn the reasons of the two opposite answers. What are your ideas??
